This symbol identifies different types of plastic.

The letters denote the plastic type. PET for example is polyethylene terephthalate which is found in drinks bottles.

The number between 1 and 7 on plastics helps recycling plants sort them. Type 1 is widely recycled, but please check your council website about types 2, 4 and 5. Types 3, 6 and 7 often can not be recycled.
